A chance to get stoneware and porcelain finished, this workshop will cover the essentials of selecting and applying cone 10 reduction glazes. A wide variety of glazes are available for student use, and demonstrations of various glazing techniques will be done. Whatever fits in the big gas kiln will be fired following the workshop, so come with bisque-fired pots and be prepared to work hard and fast.

Anne Goldberg has been playing with clay since childhood. She is a studio potter making both handbuilt and wheel thrown functional ceramics. She studied at Cornell University, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Anderson Ranch Art Center and Carbondale Clay Center. Her work is included in the forthcoming 500 Cups, published by Lark Books (spring 2005), and can be seen locally at the Provincetown Artisan Cooperative Gallery. She is returning for her second season as Castle Hill’s Ceramics Studio Manager.

Teen throwing: Working on the Potter’s Wheel

This class is the chance for teenagers, 12 and older, who are serious about learning to throw pots on the wheel to get the specific attention they need. It is an intensive class and will have a different assignment each session.
